Lumiere Festival 2013 in Review (Video)
Connecting Arts and the Community
In keeping with NECTAR Centre‘s rich mosaic vision composed of distinct but closely linked elements ranging from creative artistic development and expression, to community-building, health and well-being, cultural and heritage preservation, the Lumiere Festival facilitates the enchantment of light to celebrate community creativity and participation, and to facilitate meaningful interactions among local performing and visual artists and members of the community.
As promised, the 2013 Evening of Light was a magical and exciting spectacle of captivating visual art installations, and a rich brew of performance art ranging from stilt walking to fire-eating, theatre, comedy and dance. As in years past, the festival is geared to providing unique opportunities for members of the public to engage directly with local artists and performers, and to take part in the creative process through lantern-making, costume wearing and other forms of direct participation.
NECTAR Centre graciously thanks Lumiere Festival staff, volunteers and festival goers in making this years festival a success and we look forward to seeing you next year!
