New! QIGONG – Sun Sept 15 – Dec 15 (13wks) 9:00 – 10:00 am

Qigong, means “life energy cultivation”.  It is practiced as a set of slow movements that are aligned with breath, body awareness and visualization guiding energy through the body.  Qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate balance between body, mind and spirit.  Exercises done with mindfulness are meditation in motion.  Roots of Qigong are in Chinese philosophy and health cultivation practices.  Qigong is now practiced worldwide, and is considered by some to be exercise, and by others to be a type of alternative medicine or meditative practice.  From a philosophical perspective Qigong is believed to help develop human potential, allow access to higher realms of awareness, and awaken one’s “true nature”.
