John Jarrett

When John retired from a career in education, he enrolled in the Diploma Program at the Ottawa School of Art. On completion of this three year program, he continued his association with the School as a Board member.

Ottawa is John’s home town. He enjoys depicting its older neighbourhoods and its green spaces and rivers. He also spends many happy hours painting in the Gatnieau Hills and the rural areas around the city. Portrait painting and drawing are among his interests. He paints largely in oils.

Luis Guillermo Leigh

Luis was born in Santiago, Chile and came to Canada in his twenties.  His love of nature and the Canadian landscape is reflected in his art.

His passion for painting led Luis to take training in drawing, life drawing, portraiture and landscape painting.  His retirement as an economist in January 2012, allowed him to devote himself to his second career as an artist with passion and enthusiasm.

His recent works have focused on the Thousand Islands, the Ottawa River and Killarney Park in Ontario.  He completed a series of paintings of parks in Alberta, including ones in Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.

Luis’s recent exhibitions include the juried, 35th Annual Lacloche Art Show and the “That’s Life Exhibition” in Ottawa.  His paintings are in private collections in Canada, US and Chile.

Patrick Biggs

Hausberg- Biggs2012Eiger-Biggs2013

In 2012, after 8 years with the National Alpine Ski Team and representing Canada in two Olympics, Patrick has had a change of pace from the ski slopes to the studio.  After studying engineering and studio art at Dartmouth College, Patrick has taken his passion for skiing and combined it with a life long love of art and design.  His specialties as an artist focus on a contemporary style, which intermingle the aspects of semi-abstraction and many concepts from the impressionist.  He likes to include movement as a crucial element in his paintings and hopes to invoke the human perception and experience.
